At Skyline Nanny Co., we don’t just fill positions. We create intentional, long-term matches between families and nannies who truly fit your lifestyle, values, and expectations.

Every placement is handled personally, with a focus on quality over quantity; because the right fit changes everything.

Our placements provide…

  • Highly vetted, experienced candidates

  • Personalized matching process (not just resumes sent over)

  • Clear expectations set for both families and nannies

  • Ongoing support throughout the placement and beyond

  • A focus on long-term success, not quick placements

Placement Types

Whether you’re looking for full-time support or something more flexible, we offer a range of placement options to fit your family.

What makes us different?

We take on the work so you don’t have to. Instead of sending over dozens of candidates and leaving you to figure it out, we handle the process from start to finish — thoughtfully, carefully, and with a high standard for who we represent.

We get to know your family, do the deep vetting, and narrow it down to candidates who truly make sense for your home. You’re not sifting through resumes or guessing who might work — you’re meeting people who already align.

It’s a more efficient, more intentional process built for families who want it done right the first time.

    • Candidate sourcing and recruiting

    • Initial candidate screening

    • Reference checks

    • Ongoing communication and placement support

    • Offer and contract support

We take a boutique, relationship-focused approach to placements and intentionally limit the number of active searches we take on at one time to ensure each family receives personalized attention and support throughout the process.

  • The initial search deposit secures your family’s active search and allows us to begin sourcing, screening, and interviewing candidates on your behalf.

Because significant time and labor begin immediately upon launching a search, the search retainer is non-refundable.

The remaining balance of the placement fee is due once a nanny has accepted a position and an employment agreement is ready to be finalized.

  • Nanny compensation varies based on several factors, including the number and ages of children, schedule, location, responsibilities, and the candidate's experience and qualifications.

As a general guideline, most professional nanny positions in Chicago and the North Shore currently start around $28–$35+ per hour. Positions involving infants, multiple children, household management responsibilities, specialized experience, or non-traditional schedules may require higher compensation to attract and retain qualified candidates.

At Skyline Nanny Co., we provide families with personalized compensation guidance based on current market conditions and the specific needs of their role. Our goal is to help families create competitive offers that attract experienced, professional caregivers while remaining aligned with industry standards.

During your consultation, we'll discuss compensation expectations, benefits, guaranteed hours, paid time off, and other factors that contribute to a successful long-term nanny employment relationship.

As part of our commitment to industry standards and professional nanny employment, Skyline Nanny Co. generally accepts positions starting at $26/hour for one child with minimal duties. Roles involving additional children, infants, household management responsibilities, specialized care, or unique scheduling needs will typically require higher compensation based on current market conditions.

  • We stand behind the care and attention we put into every placement.

If a placement ends within 60 days due to circumstances determined appropriate by The Skyline Nanny Co., we will conduct one replacement search at no additional placement fee.

Families must remain in compliance with their signed employment agreement and agency policies to qualify for a replacement search.

  • We work with families who value professional in-home childcare and are committed to treating their nanny as a household employee and professional caregiver. Families are expected to meet Skyline’s minimum employment standards, including but not limited to:

    • legal pay

    • guaranteed hours

    • paid time off & sick pay

    • and respectful workplace expectations

    • competitive hourly rates

    • extensive and thorough employment contracts

  • Every search is different, but most families can expect the process to take anywhere from 2–6 weeks depending on schedule needs, flexibility, and the current market. Families seeking highly specific schedules, travel requirements, or immediate placement timelines may experience a longer search.

  • While we are not a payroll company and do not employ the nannies we work with directly, we strongly believe in legal, professional household employment practices and are happy to guide families toward trusted payroll resources and industry standards. All families working with The Skyline Nanny Co. are required to pay their nanny legally and on the books.

  • We do our best to accommodate urgent placement needs whenever possible. Searches requiring placement within 14 days may be subject to an expedited search fee due to the additional sourcing and scheduling demands involved in rush placements.

  • We intentionally take a more personal, hands-on approach to placements. We take the time to truly get to know our families, understand household dynamics, and carefully evaluate long-term compatibility rather than simply filling positions quickly. Our goal is to create respectful, lasting matches where both families and caregivers feel supported throughout the process.
